Hello! I have a Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI, model year 2009 that showed me an fault code of the ECU, P042F that means something like stuck EGR valve. So i removed the EGR valve and cleaned it out there was not much soot and reinstalled it. Worked for about 5 kilometers and then it trow the code again and derated the engine.

1 answer. I have a Ford Fiesta 2007 1.4 TDCI. When I brake. Check the wiring harness. Sounds like it has come in contact with the break assembly and is shorting out. Look for exposed wiring where the cover has worn off coming in contact with the break. Tape all exposed wiring and be glad you haven't had a small fire.
