I have seen a few posts with people have a transfer case issue. What are those symptoms? I am having this issue: When moderately/heavy accelerating in a low-mid speed somewhat tight corner, I can feel the car doing a hesitation like the tranny is slipping or the fuel is being turned off/on quickly.
Upon starting car, it revs up to ~ 1500 rpm, holds that for about 3 - 5 seconds, then drops to about 900 rmp where it runs VERY rough. RPMs vary up and down for about 10 seconds (1,200 - 600), feeling rough, then it smooths out and idles at ~ 600 rpm. Test drive does not bring the Engine Malfunction back. Neither do me or the diagnostic/chiptuning guy know what's wrong. The really weird symptoms and doings of the problem: 1. I can always tell when the problem appears just by the engine sound in the cabin. It suddenly becomes quieter and also the engine is not 'roaring' as loud upon acceleration as when there's no problem. 2. The reason could be BMW 3 series age, driving habits, the oil you may use, and how often you change your engine oil. 1. Degrading And Hardening Of Seals & Gaskets. Photo by Unsplash.
